What’s included
  • Unmetered everyday legal advice
  • 6 matters a year  A matter is one complete piece of legal work with a clear deliverable. For example, a shareholders' agreement drafted, or your website terms and privacy policy prepared. Questions, second opinions, and check-in calls don't count towards your allowance.
  • A dedicated solicitor who knows your business
  • A proactive legal roadmap  Your solicitor works out what your business needs and in what order, then you build a legal roadmap together before any work begins.
  • 10% off fixed-fee projects
  • Lease agreements
  • Disputes  Dispute support is only included on Accelerate, Scale and Enterprise.
  • Free trade mark registration  Not covered on Launch. We still handle the search, application and strategy as part of your plan. The official IPO fee is payable by you.

How it works

Start using your legal subscription in a few simple steps

From first call to first piece of work in days, not weeks. Onboarding runs through the Client Hub and your solicitor takes it from there.

Book a complimentary consultation

We get to know your business, how you currently handle legal work and where a subscription or a pack will deliver the most value.

Subscribe and onboard

After subscribing online, we set you up on the Client Hub, where you can book meetings, open and track projects, share documents and message us directly.

Build your legal action plan

Your dedicated solicitor works with you to identify priorities, plan the legal work ahead and put the right foundations in place across the business.

Use your subscription as you need it

As a Lawyerly subscriber you have ongoing access to your solicitor for the commercial legal work that comes up through the year, with no clock running.

Fixed-fee startup packs

Prefer to start with one milestone?

One-off fixed fees built around a founder milestone. Each pack is offered as a review of documents you already hold, or drafted from scratch. Subscribe within nine months of completing a pack and we credit 10 to 30 per cent of the fee against your first year.

  • On-demand legal support

Work with your legal professional through our online Client Hub. Wherever you are, whenever you need us.

  • Predictable fees

Pay a monthly subscription or a fixed fee for one-off work. The price is always agreed before we start.

Beyond the subscription

Raising a round, or buying and selling a business?

Funding rounds and M&A are priced separately as fixed-fee projects, whether or not you subscribe. Each fee is agreed before we start, and subscribers save 10 to 30 per cent depending on their plan. Round fees are on the Raising investment page; deals up to £1m on Buying a business.

  • SEIS or EIS round

Angel and early investor money where tax relief is part of the pitch. We prepare the round documents and brief your accountant on the tax side.

  • Seed or pre-Series A

Institutional terms, a shareholders' agreement built for investors and articles to match, negotiated through to completion.

  • Convertible (SAFE, ASA or CLN)

A bridge before a priced round, drafted so it converts cleanly when the round arrives.

  • Buying or selling a business

A phased fixed-fee structure for deals up to £1m, paid per phase, with the option to stop after any phase.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers on plans, packs, what is covered and how we charge.

For most founders, a subscription is the better fit. It gives you a dedicated solicitor from day one who builds your foundations with you and stays across the business as it grows, rather than a one-off piece of work that stops when the documents are delivered. Packages suit founders who want to tackle a single milestone first, getting set up, launch-ready or investor-ready, before deciding on ongoing support.
Once you subscribe, we open your Client Hub the same day and start onboarding, including standard identity and compliance checks. Most founders are set up within twenty minutes, and your solicitor reaches out to schedule a first session. Urgent matters can usually be picked up as soon as onboarding clears.
No. A package is a one-off, with no obligation to continue. But if you do subscribe within nine months of completing it, we credit 10 to 30 per cent of the package fee toward your first year, so it makes sense to keep the option open.

Get incorporated covers company formation and share structure, founder articles and governance, and your core commercial documents. Ready to trade adds website terms and a privacy pack, your key commercial agreements and your first employment agreement and handbook. Ready to raise covers the shareholders' agreement, the founders' IP assignment pack, and cap table and round-ready documents. Each pack is available as a review of documents you already hold or drafted from scratch.

Everyday legal advice, commercial contracts, NDAs and digital terms, employment and HR, founders' and shareholders' agreements, corporate governance, privacy and compliance, IP and trade marks, short commercial leases, pre-action disputes and debt recovery. One dedicated solicitor handles it all.
A few areas sit outside. We don't undertake reserved legal activities like court litigation, criminal defence, immigration or conveyancing, and we don't give tax advice or make statutory filings. Larger transactions such as funding rounds and M&A are handled as fixed-fee projects alongside the subscription. Third-party costs like filing fees are passed through at cost.
That's what our packages and fixed-fee menu are for. If you only need a single contract, policy or filing, we'll quote a fixed fee in writing before starting. No subscription required.

Funding rounds are scoped as fixed-fee projects, whether or not you subscribe. SEIS and EIS rounds, convertibles and seed rounds each have a set fee agreed upfront, listed on our Raising investment page. We draft the legal documents and lead the legal workstream; your accountant advises on tax and makes any filings.

Our solicitors are individually regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and bound by its Code of Conduct, and we carry professional indemnity insurance covering their work. Lawyerly itself isn't an SRA-authorised firm, which is the modern legal services model the SRA introduced in 2019, but the solicitors who deliver your work remain personally accountable to the same professional standards.
Yes. You're paired with a dedicated, SRA-regulated solicitor whose commercial experience fits your business, and they handle every matter you bring to us. Over time, they get to know how you operate and where the pressure points are. They draw on the wider team for expertise behind the scenes, but they remain your single point of contact and personally sign off your advice.
AI helps us with first-pass review, research and admin. It never replaces a solicitor's judgement, and a qualified solicitor signs off every piece of advice that leaves us. Your data is never used to train third-party AI models, and all processing complies with UK GDPR.
Your Client Hub is the central place for everything. You can book calls or video meetings, open and track projects, share documents securely and message us directly. Email and phone are available too.
We acknowledge new requests within 24 hours, and substantive work like advice, drafting or contract review typically lands within seven days depending on complexity. Many routine matters move faster, and we agree turnaround times upfront on bigger projects.
If you complete a package and then subscribe within nine months, we credit between 10 and 30 per cent of what you paid for the package toward your first year of subscription. The money you spend getting set up isn't separate from your ongoing support, it counts toward it.
No. The monthly fee is the monthly fee. The only additions are third-party costs passed through at cost (filing fees, registry fees, counsel's fees) and any project work outside subscription scope, always quoted as a fixed fee in writing before we start. No charges for emails, calls or short queries.
Your subscription rolls forward on the cadence you chose, monthly or annual, unless you tell us before the renewal date. We remind you at least 30 days ahead, and we always give advance notice if anything changes on pricing.
We offer a 30-day guarantee. If you are not happy with our service in the first month, you can ask for your money back.
