HOW IT WORKS

From introduction to engagement

Four steps, and only the second one is yours. Everything else is handled by us.

We agree the arrangement

Before your first introduction we agree how we will work together and put it in writing: how introductions are recognised, and how the arrangement is disclosed to clients, as the SRA Code requires.

You make the introduction

When one of the businesses you look after needs a solicitor, you introduce them to us and step back. That is the whole of your part.

We take the client on

We have the conversation with the client, agree the plan that fits their business and sign them up on the Client Hub. Identity checks take minutes, and they are matched with a named solicitor.

You stay the trusted adviser

The client remains yours. The legal work and the regulatory responsibility sit with us, we confirm when the introduction has been taken up, and it is recognised in the form we agreed.

We would rather work with the people businesses already trust than try to work around them. It is better for the client, and it is the only version of this that lasts.

WHY WE WORK THIS WAY

Businesses trust the people who already know them

A small business rarely goes looking for a solicitor. It asks the people it already trusts: the broker who placed its cover, the accountant who sees its numbers, the investor who backed it. Most of the legal problems those businesses run into never reach a policy or a spreadsheet, and until now there was nowhere sensible to send them.

Lawyerly was built for that moment. A named, SRA-regulated solicitor on a fixed monthly fee, working alongside the advice the business already gets. The introduction is recognised, the client is looked after, and the person who made the introduction remains the one who solved the problem.

WHAT EVERY PARTNERSHIP SHARES

Four things we hold to, whoever makes the introduction

The arrangements differ from partner to partner. The principles do not.

  • The client stays yours

We do legal work and nothing else. We do not arrange insurance, prepare accounts, advise on people or invest, so there is nothing for us to cross-sell and no reason for the relationship to move.

  • The responsibility sits with us

The engagement is between the client and Lawyerly. You give no legal advice and take no part in delivering the work, so the regulatory responsibility rests with a regulated solicitor, not with you.

  • Agreed in writing, disclosed to the client

Before the first introduction we put the arrangement in writing. Referral arrangements are disclosed to the client, as the SRA Code requires, and in our experience that openness strengthens the relationship rather than straining it.

  • Nothing to build, nothing to run

There is no product to set up, no minimum and no cost to you. You make the introduction you are already trusted to make, and we handle everything from the first conversation onwards.

COMMON QUESTIONS

The questions partners ask us

Straight answers on how an arrangement works, what it means for your relationship with the client, and where the responsibility sits.

That depends on you. For some partners it is a referral fee per client. For others it is an ongoing arrangement, a preferred rate for their clients or members, or a co-branded offering. Whatever we agree is put in writing before your first introduction, so both sides know exactly where they stand.

No. There is no cost to set up, no minimum number of introductions and no exclusivity. Some partners introduce a client now and then; others make us a standing part of how they look after their book. You can change how closely you work with us as it suits you.

Nothing changes for you beyond what we agreed at the start. There is no clawback on anything already paid, and it has no effect on your other introductions or your arrangement with us.

No. We do legal work and nothing else. We do not arrange insurance, prepare accounts or advise on people or strategy, so there is nothing for us to cross-sell. Your client stays your client, and in practice the relationship usually strengthens, because you are the adviser who solved a problem outside your remit.

A named, SRA-regulated solicitor on a fixed monthly fee, with unlimited day-to-day advice and direct access through the Client Hub. The fee is set by the size and stage of the business, from £379 a month plus VAT, and every client you introduce is on the same clear, fixed terms.

We confirm when an introduction has been taken up and when the engagement begins. Beyond that, the client's matters are confidential to them, as you would expect of a solicitor.

Yes. The SRA Code requires referral arrangements to be disclosed to clients, and we do this as standard. Transparency protects the relationship rather than threatening it, and in our experience clients appreciate knowing exactly how the introduction came about.

You are not. You make an introduction, and everything from there is handled by us: the conversation, the engagement and the sign-up. You give no legal advice and take no part in delivering the service, so the responsibility sits with a regulated solicitor, not with you or your firm.

Your client's work is done by a named solicitor who is individually regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and bound by its Code of Conduct, and we carry professional indemnity insurance covering their work. Our solicitors are employed, not freelance, so the same person stays in place for your client.
